Around 25 years ago, "scientiic fact based on psychology" said that homosexuality is a mental disease. Cultural pressure caused the psychological organization that decides on these sort of things to re-think and reverse their position. But the knee-jerk reaction and blind defense of phychology just reinforces my opinion that psychology is not scrutinized enough scientifiy to be considered a "pure science". Folks would rather let their eyes glass over and place in whatever the psychologists say. An impartial observer is required for "pure science". The human mind is hardly an impartial observer when it is observing itself. I have personal experience that hints we are more in control of our emotions than folks give credit for.
